Review for Inside out and back again (book)

This book is about a young girl, Ha who experienced the Vietnam War. For the most of Ha's life she has loved the welcome of her friends, the excitement of sneaking sweets, and most of all, her very own papaya tree. But all of that has to change now because of the Vietnam War drawing closer. Ha and her family flees away from their home, Saigon and has to leave everything behind. The family flees to America while along the way Ha worries about what they’re going to do and what to except but mostly about her missing in action dad, who got captured while fighting in the war. But these worries soon come to an end when Ha and her family reach Alabama in America. She starts to worry about her reputation and making friends, but the hardest thing to accomplish, is learning English.
This book is a very moving story that touches your heart; it changes your life along with changing Ha’s life. I thought this book helped me experience what it would be like and feel like in the Vietnam War. This story touched my heart and I hope it touches yours too!

Review for Shutter Island (movie)

Review for Shutter Island (this movie might be scary for some kids)
In this movie, (again) Leonardo Vicario plays Teddy Daniels, a U.S. Marshall who fought in World War 2. He goes to Shutter Island, a place for the criminally insane, to investigate a crime scene. A patient has suspiciously disappeared from a bolted room with thousands of guards watching. The patient’s name is Rachel Solando who drowned three of her own children in a lake. A question is asked: who is 67? There are 24 patients in ward c and there are 42 patients in ward A and B. All of them added together are 66, who is the 67th patient? So Teddy Daniels and his partner, Chuck goes on a wild goose chase and along the way they find out secrets about Shutter Island and its insane patients.
Rachel Solando suddenly appears without a scratch on her. The case is closed and Teddy is supposed to be heading back home. But with the storm brewing, he is trapped on the island. While he is staying longer he finds out more secrets about Shutter Island. The longer Teddy stays on the island, the more he has dreams than usual about his passed away wife and strange children that reminds him of something. Teddy says that the person who killed his wife was Andrew Laedis, the person who set his house on fire which killed his wife. But is that true?
This movie is mostly a mystery that teases your brain. You can’t believe everything Teddy Daniels has to say. Like I said it’s a mystery. My favorite part of the movie was when the mystery was solved and we knew about Teddy Daniels more than ever. There were also some sad parts in the movie that are potential tearjeakering moments and I also felt bad for the characters because they all experienced miserable traumas in their life. The movie is a little confusing but when you reach the end and looked back at the movie, you’ll suddenly understand!

Note: if you are a child under 17, you shouldn’t watch this movie without an adult!

Review For Inception

Film Review for Inception
In Inception, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Mr.Cobb, a very troubled man. Mr.Cobb can’t go back to America because he was suspected for killing his wife. For his children’s sake, he accepts a mission for a ticket to go home. Mr.Cobb is suppose to be stealing information and ideas from other people as his job, but when he is asked to plant an idea in their mind, he must face a different challenge: himself and his past. He decides to use inception where he goes into dreams within dreams, with subconsciousness on his side, he accepts the job. But in a dream anything can happen, especially when someone else is controlling the dream. The mission is supposed to be easy but along the way they fight sinister forces trying to kill them. The team tries to struggle through that problem and complete their mission. Along the way they face an enemy, who reveals Dom Cobb’s past, who Mr.Cobb doesn’t like to talk about his past.

Their enemy is Dom Cobb’s wife, Mal. But when they are exploring the dreams within dreams, Cobb plants an idea into her mind that the world they were trapped in wasn’t real, so to return to reality, they had to die. But when they went back to reality she thought the same thing but this time she didn’t go to reality. Since his wife had passed away, he makes a projection of her in dreams. But she only causes trouble in the dream. She tries to convince him to be with her by doing what she did (dying). Whenever Mal ties to ruin the mission, it’s very hard for Cobb to stop her because she is part of his memory but not anyone else’s.
This movie also has a lot of action and it makes you really scared about what’s going to happen. The music makes the scenes better and it’s really tense. There is also plenty of gun shooting and fight scenes in the movie so it makes it a good movie to watch. This movie also makes you think a lot because there are a lot of things you don’t understand but at the end of the movie you understand. I think the movie was really exciting and nerve racking because there were some parts that didn’t tell you the real meaning and made you think. I also thought that there was a lot of deeper meaning in the movie because it didn’t always talk about the action scenes but the relationship with Dom and Mal. They also talk about how even a small idea can define or destroy you. I thought the deeper meaning was that a lot of people would like to live in a dream but it wouldn’t be the same as reality.
Mr.Cobb’s team includes various types of people. Their architect is a student named Ariadne who builds the dream worlds. She was named after the Greek Ariadne who helped the hero Hercules through the labyrinth because the dream world was like a maze. There is also a forger, his name is Eames. He can transform into different people so they can talk to other people without being recognized. Another team member is Saito. He is the person who offered the mission and he went along with them to see if they can complete the mission. The last member of the team is Arthur. He was Dom’s partner and he did the research o the people they were working on. Cobb was helped by a lot of people.
Overall I would give this movie an A- because the writer used a lot of imagination and the action scenes were really good. But I gave it a minus because there were very little confusing parts and parts that didn’t make sense. The movie was really good when I watched it, it was really intriguing! You should watch it!
